Join us for a creative and hands-on workshop where we will explore the art of stamping and carving through the lens of botanical motifs. The Traveler’s Series invites participants to connect with nature, travel, and artistry, as we bring delicate plant-inspired designs to life in a way that can be used for personal journaling, crafting, and more.

What to Expect:

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn the basics of stamp carving: Get introduced to the tools and techniques needed to carve your own botanical stamp from rubber.
  • Explore botanical motifs: Discover various plant forms, from leaves and flowers to vines, and learn how to translate them into stamp and carving designs.
  • Create your own custom botanical stamp: With guidance from an expert, you’ll design and carve your unique botanical motif that speaks to your love of travel and nature.
  • Experiment with stamping techniques: Once your stamp is ready, learn how to use it effectively on various materials—paper, fabric, and more—allowing you to create personal travel journals, cards, or scrapbooks.
  • Discuss inspiration and design: Gain insight into the cultural significance of different plants and their symbolism across the world, tying it into the theme of travel.

About The Artist

Jeffrey Ang is an avid urban sketcher and art educator. He received his training at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). His creative career spans over 30 years as a designer and teaching art and graphic design in a tertiary institution. He is a registered MOE art instructor and an occasional adjunct lecturer at SUTD. Jeffrey is currently founder of Artefakts Art • Craft • Design.

    Once registered, participants are not eligible for a refund if they decide to withdraw from the workshop. However, Overjoyed reserves the right to make amendments or cancel the workshop (with a full refund) while providing prior notice to all registered participants.

  • Event Time and Cancellation
    TASA Gallery reserves the right to modify the event time or cancel the event in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be notified promptly of any changes or cancellations.

  • Minimum Participation Requirement
    To commence the workshop, a minimum of 8 participants must be registered. In the event of workshop cancellation due to insufficient participation, paid participants will be notified at least 1 day in advance, and a full refund will be issued.

  • Cleanliness Responsibility
    We kindly request that participants ensure the event space is cleaned up after use. Your cooperation in maintaining a clean and pleasant environment is greatly appreciated.

  • Photography and Video Recording Consent
    In accordance with PDPA regulations, Overjoyed will capture photographs and record videos during the workshop. By registering for this workshop, participants are considered to have granted consent to be photographed, recorded in videos, or included in these media as required for purposes such as publicity, illustration, advertising, and online content.
