KAKIMORI Metal Nib Copper

The Kakimori Metal Nib in Copper is crafted to offer both functionality and character, evolving beautifully with use. Made from pure, uncoated copper, the nib begins with a warm rose-gold tone that gradually deepens to rich browns as it oxidises, developing a unique patina over time. Its rounded, highly polished tip glides smoothly on paper, and the line quality can be controlled simply by adjusting the writing angle. Held upright, it produces fine lines, while a slanted position creates broader, more expressive strokes that resemble brushwork.

Each nib is precisely made and designed to fit Kakimori nib holders, though it is also compatible with many standard holders. Because copper is a softer metal, the tip naturally wears in with regular use, resulting in lines that become bolder and smoother over time. Some spotting or colour variation on new nibs is expected and part of the metal’s natural character. Regular rinsing helps maintain consistent ink flow, and dried ink can be cleaned gently with a soft brush. Harsh or alkaline cleaners should be avoided to protect the surface.
