The soft pastel pencil is a medium made from pigment and soft binding agents, such as calcium carbon- ate, encased in wood. This creates a vivid, blendable color that is slightly harder than traditional pastels making them ideal for detail work.

Artwork created with soft pastel pencils is extremely fragile and often requires a finishing fixative to prevent the unwanted spread of the fine pigment particles.

However, soft pastel paintings truly stand the test of time because they are made with a higher concentration of pure pigments than many other media, and thus maintain their brilliant quality.

Individual colours of dry artistic powder pastels of the best quality in pencils with up to 48 shades. Round standard pencils. They are suitable for finer drawing on a structured velvet tinted paper. The drawing can be easily blurred and mixed together. Finally, the work must be stabilized using a suitable fixing agent.
