Step into a world beneath the waves with TASA’s 3D Oceanarium Workshop—an immersive, hands-on art experience where students create their own miniature marine environment using sculpture, painting, and paper engineering techniques.
Workshop Overview:
In this creative session, participants will explore the fascinating biodiversity of ocean life while learning how to build a 3D ocean scene from scratch. Combining visual storytelling with tactile making, the workshop encourages observation, design thinking, and collaboration—perfect for cross-disciplinary learning.
What Students Will Do:
- Learn About Marine Life
Brief introduction to sea creatures, coral ecosystems, and conservation themes to inspire each student’s creation.
- Construct a 3D Oceanarium
Using cardboard, paper, and mixed media, students will design and build a layered diorama showcasing fish, corals, and underwater elements.
- Experiment With Depth & Dimension
Learn how to create foreground, middle ground, and background using folding, layering, and pop-up techniques.
- Personalise With Colour & Texture
Students paint, cut, and decorate their scenes with vibrant details to bring their marine worlds to life.
Educational Value:
This workshop blends Visual Arts with Environmental Education and encourages both creativity and spatial reasoning. It’s suitable for primary to lower secondary levels and can support art curriculum goals such as:
