DISCOVER Tape Art By TASA
DISCOVER Tape Art
By TASA | Bold Expression Through Lines and Shapes
Experience a fresh and dynamic approach to visual art with DISCOVER Tape Art by TASA—a hands-on workshop that transforms ordinary adhesive tape into a powerful tool for bold, expressive creations. Participants will explore the possibilities of line, contrast, and composition using tape as the primary medium.
Guided by TASA’s artist-facilitators, students will experiment with coloured masking tape, washi tape, or painter’s tape to design abstract or representational artworks on boards, walls, or large-format paper. They will learn how to layer, tear, cut, and compose with tape—creating clean edges, graphic patterns, and striking visual impact without the need for traditional drawing or painting tools.
This accessible medium encourages spontaneity, teamwork, and thinking beyond the brush, making it ideal for individual or collaborative art-making.
What the Workshop Covers:
– Introduction to the origins and styles of tape art
– Exploring line, shape, and negative space through tape
– Techniques for tearing, layering, and clean edge creation
– Individual or group creation of a tape art piece
– Reflection and discussion on process and composition
Educational Value:
Tape art encourages design thinking, experimentation, and spatial awareness. It is well-suited for visual learners and supports curriculum goals such as composition, abstraction, and alternative materials exploration—all while promoting creativity in a non-intimidating format.
Suitable For:
Upper primary to secondary students, or as a contemporary enrichment workshop for any age group.
By the end of the session, participants will have completed a bold, graphic artwork using only tape—proving that creativity knows no bounds when you change the tools you use.
