LEARNING JOURNEY Making Watercolor Paint By TASA
EXPERIENCE: Making Watercolor
By TASA
What goes into the colours we paint with?
EXPERIENCE: Making Watercolor By TASA invites you behind the scenes of watercolor creation—where pigment, binder, and process come together in a hands-on journey of craft and discovery.
In this interactive station, participants learn how watercolors are made from scratch, starting with natural and synthetic pigments, then slowly mulling them with gum arabic to create usable paint. You'll get to touch the raw materials, try traditional mulling tools, and experience the transformation from powder to paint.
Guided by TASA artists, this session highlights the artistry and science behind each colour—its origin, texture, intensity, and how it behaves on paper. Participants will also have the opportunity to test their handmade paint and take home a swatch.
This is a chance to gain a deeper appreciation of what lies beneath every brushstroke.
Make colour. Make connection.
